Goblins from the Mines of Moria

As a slight deviation from Incursion, Vikings, WW2 and other worthy projects in progress I finally got around to getting those Goblins of mine (pun intended) posed and ready for a shoot. But first a little background blurb:

I'm not really a big fan of the GW goblins. It's not because of their quality, everyone knows that GW products are great sculpts thus commanding a high price tag. My issue has been the cartoon-like appearance of their overall look.

But ever since the LOTR films I knew that THESE goblins were destined for my collection. These are the coolest Goblins yet!! If you own the DVD boxed sets, you've more than likely seen the design of these creatures, their armor and weapons. I can really appreciate the time devoted to all their detail and love how much more warlike and evil they look.

Love them shields!!

And cool poses, too!

BTW - the box came with Elves (barffff) but I won't be painting those Nancy boys...

  1. I have to say I was a sucker for LOTR when it first came out. They are great models and work perfectly whatever fantasy genre you're using them for.

  2. I'm not a LOTR plyaer (though I know I would be if I had an active club into it), but these guys are great models - I've been thinking about using them in a saga style Viking game but just have them appear without warning!

  3. @ZA - thanks, my thinking as well.

@Paul - well, it seems like u n i are always parallel with our gaming since that's exactly what i want these guys for. like u, i want my vikings to take on all comers.

  4. GW goblins are great! Cheap, easy to paint and capable of making my AD&D players' eyes bulge when I pull out 48 goblin minis to form a circle around their puny little party of 7 to 8...

If you're interested in a barter for those Elves, I could use them for my Chainmail/Battlesystem armies. I've got a barter page up if there's anything you're interested in...
